The Education Committee of the Friends of the Balch was recently formed to reflect and implement the bylaws of the Friends. Per the bylaws, the Friends of the Balch Library have stated that this organization will preserve, enhance, and promote Loudoun and Virginia heritage through various projects, programs, and special events. Toward that goal, the Education committee will work to inform, to promote awareness and interest in the library, to educate the membership and Loudoun County and its neighbors of programs, events, and projects that meet those objectives.
The following programs are being implemented or in the planning stages:
1. Developing a universal database that can be utilized by all committees within the organization and coordinated with the existing database maintained by the Library.
2. Coordinating all PR vehicles with particular emphasis on the Friends newsletter and brochures
3. Helping to coordinate and promote programs and events within the historical community.
4. Establishing an outreach within the community through newspapers, radio and schools.
