THOMAS BALCH LIBRARY
SUMMER/FALL PROGRAMS AND EVENTS

At 4 PM on Sunday, September 25, 2011, the Friends of Thomas Balch Library will gather for their fourth annual event in support of Thomas Balch Library. A Late Afternoon at the River will take place on the banks of the Potomac at an historic Loudoun property. The privately-owned site, Riverside on the Potomac, was first documented as Clapham's Ferry crossing, circa 1757. Guests will enjoy panoramic vistas, great food, fine wine and engaging conversation. Dennis E. Frye, Chief Historian at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, will be the featured program speaking on The Potomac: International Border Between North and South".

Corporate sponsors and individuals interested in supporting this event are welcome to contact the Friends for additional information and an invitation. You may send an email request to EVENTS@BalchFriends.org or leave a message at 703-737-2166. All proceeds will go toward the endowment for Thomas Balch Library.

Except the annual fundraiser held by the Friends, most programs sponsored by Thomas Balch Library are held in the downstairs meeting room and are free unless otherwise noted. Due to limited seating we recommend registering in advance by calling 703-737-7195. For updated news on events at the library, visit their website at: http://www.leesburgva.com/index.aspx?page=327
